Subject RE: [firebird-support] Network DB
Author Peter Simard
I'm not purporting it, but I have to get enough info together to explain to
the client what would be better, and why the multi user access to the DB via
embedded firebird (clients - to a db file on a network) is not necessarily a
good thing.

We have to remember that we as software developers have to give the customer
what they want, even if sometimes that may entail doing something that is
not ideal. As long as we make the best decisions and [try] to cover possible
situations that arise then we are doing our job. Letting the customer know
the consequences of a particular request is important, but sometimes the
client wants what they want (you just have to let them know what the results
are going to be).

only at your own peril. Corruptions would be very high on the agenda. You
can't be seriously contemplating it in a multi-user environment
