well even if you just use zebedee (compression/encryption) proxy you can
turn off compression and encryption and just use the proxy service. zebedee
has exhaustive logs for both the client and server.
You can change FB port to 3051, then you run zebedee client on 3050 which
tunnels to zebedee on it's port (11965) and talks to FB on 3051.
