Rob, I seem to recall that some time ago OO started to use Java as its
'scripting language' (I only know because the decision created some
controversy). So I did a quick google, and there are several
references to OO and connecting to dbs via JDBC:

Maybe you can find out in the OO docs about JDBC, and if you have any
