This is probably a very simple 'newbie' question, but I wanted to find out
the best practice for doing the following:

I need to insert a record into a table that has a Generator on its ID number
field. After the insert has succeeded, I need it to return the ID number
given to the record.

What is the best way to do this? I'm coding this into a stored procedure,
so I have some flexibility in how to implement it, but wanted to know the
best way to do this with Firebird.
