If you are leaving a critical server LOGGED IN to where they HAVE
PERMISSIONS to replace such a file, I think security is the LAST of your
concerns.

More or less, only the firebird user should have permissions to this
file. So even if TopExecFromXCompany logs in, he shouldnt be able to
access this file AT ALL.
