If I recall I installed FirebirdSS-1.5.2.4731-0.i686.tar.gz on Fedora
3 (not the NPTL) and it also worked, who knows, I'm not a Linux
expert. I then installed IBAccess
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/ibaccess) to admin from Linux. I have
used FlameRobin in Windows and look promising. I'd rather administer
Firebird on Linux from Windows using the free version of IBExpert
(www.ibexpert.com).
