Having noticed the following line...

"The security database is not used in the embedded server and hence is
not required. Any user is able to attach to any database."

...in the FB 1.5 Release Notes, I'm wondering what the implications
are for an app like mine where the structure and content of the DB are
considered commercially sensitive IP.

Is securing a DB under embedded simply not possible, or are there
strategies that can achieve this?

I'd be interested in approaches to deter "casual hacking" as well as
"real" security measures.
