Hi Ann,
My company embeds Firebird in an application. One of our users told us
they achieved some big performance improvements by defragmenting their
hard disk. I was thinking we could reduce fragmentation by allocating
larger chunks of space when the db grows.
But, there were number of followups in this thread that seem to
indicate that fragmentation was not the root cause of our performance
problems... (thanks everyone, for the feedback!)
I am still curious if this feature exists or if people think it would
provide any benefits...
Thanks,
David
