Hello,
I have been running Firebird on MDK 10.1 for a few months, and you're right the service manager says FB is stopped even though it runs.
I have never been too bothered with this as the command line interface (service firebird start/stop) runs fine. I'd put that down to "another MDK
glitch", as FB runs well with no glitches at all.
