Guardian Starts Server ( or should ), so if you are waiting for the
server to appear, then that should be a nice delay. The other thing that
I KNOW is a problem, is that windows networking takes a while to settle
down. Try to connect to the machine just after it has brought up the log
on screen and you can't. Leave it a bit longer and things are fine. You
are probably seeing THAT delay because Firebird is trying to start
quicker than Interbase did. We fix one fault - slow start up - and
create another - it's starting too quickly ;)

I don't have a problem 'cold resetting' a W2k machine, and NOW it starts
fine, but my 'LocalHub' management app has a 30 second delay (variable
used when accessing a local database) on even trying to log in, and
since it manages the other applications, nothing else starts trying
until 'LocalHub' is rolling :)
