I run FB SS 1.5.2 on a Slackware 9.1 (kernel 2.4.22) and the output of
command "ps axf" is:

92 ? S 0:00 /opt/firebird/bin/fbguard -f
93 ? S 0:00 \_ /opt/firebird/bin/fbserver

and i have installed too en Slackware 10.1 (kernel 2.4.29) and the output
is:

329 ? S 0:00 /opt/firebird/bin/fbguard -f
330 ? S 0:00 \_ /opt/firebird/bin/fbserver
331 ? S 0:00 \_ /opt/firebird/bin/fbserver
334 ? S 0:00 \_ /opt/firebird/bin/fbserver

both without connections...
why fork more process in 10.1?
