Subject RE: [firebird-support] Excel Query to firebird db using firebird ODBC driver

Emerson,

Thanks for your follow-up to my posting.

My interest in accessing the Firebird DB from Excel was only to see if I
could. That was not my preferred route. Actually, I am working on a VFP
database, and would like my VFP app to be able to read data from the
Firebird DB via ODBC. And, that seems to work OK from VFP.

So, at this point, I am going to let the Excel question rest.

Jim

ODBC driver

Hi Jim,

I'm new to Firebird too... :-)

1. I use the IbExpert Personal to create my database,
and it give me the ODS version in properties.

2. I don't know if the IBSERVER 6.2.2.908 work fine
with the Firebird ODBC 1.2.0.69.

3. I use the same ODBC version..., so..., other can
help us about the IBSERVER 6.2 with this ODBC version.

4. I don't know if the MS-Excel 2003 Query is very
diferent from MS-Excel 2000, but this can be a
problema too.

Well, I think the problem can be IBSERVER 6.2 or
MS-Excel 2003 Query. But we need a confirmation with
other member this group.
