When will 64bit Firebird be ready for primetime?
Which processors should I choose for a new server? Currently we're using
Intel Xeons (oldish, slowish, 2x900MHz), but should we now choose the
latest Xeons or consider 64bit Intel or AMD? Is 64bit still too
expensive? Is 64bit Windows not-quite-there (until 2006+)?
The old box is running Win2000 and SS Fb/1.0.3. I've seen some very nice
speed improvements when testing Fb/1.5 so I'm really looking forward to the
(s/w and h/w) upgrade.
