it is also part of the "Windows Mindset" - at least, it has been for me. it
was only when I started playing around with Linux and Inet and all the
security stuff you can do in Linux that I started realizing what I had been
missing. I suspect that because Windows makes so many things (like network
admin) so easy, wrapping it in a GUI, I was just not aware of the work
involved in the background, nor of the network security issues involved.
