I would like to be able to modify the compute statement of computed
fields without destroying them and recreating. Is there a way of
doing this, and what is the syntax?

I need it so that my automatic metadata updating system can create
dummy computed fields, and supply their content later. This is
needed when a computed field refers to stored procedures, and stored
procedures refer to computed fields.
