I've got the correct version in the app's path. This should override any
other place there might be a version on their pc, no?

It works fine for quite a while, then one instance of the app (not
always the same pc or user) gets the problem. Once that happens it's
more likely to start happening to other instances.
I've never had the problem when running the app on their db server.

win 2000 terminal, superserver.

The error was "not able to connect to host:[ip]", thrown up by ibx.
I lost the log when I deleted firebird (doh!)

Deleted firebird and reinstalled it over the weekend, and they haven't
had a problem since, but it could well come up again. The thing that is
strangest to my eyes, is that gsec doesn't work without the security
database being specified. How does gsec normally determine which one to use?
