I'm the original poster.

I'm new to Firebird, so this may require some patience.

1. I don't know the ODS version of my database. Can you tell me how to
determine that?

2. The version numbers on IBSERVER & IBGUARD are 6.2.2.908, dated 12/11/2002

3. Firebird ODBC version 1.2.0.69

4. Excel 2003

Incidentally, I was using Excel Query just to check out the Firebird ODBC
driver. When that didn't work, I tried accessing the database from a VFP
View using the Firebird ODBC driver. This is actually my primary goal. And,
this seems to work just fine, although it seems very slow, even when the
database is located on the same machine.
