Platform: XP

I have problems setting up Unicode enviroment. I created a DB with
UNICODE_FFS and created a table with the same charset as well. i used
IBExpert to open up the table and enter some characters in Chinese, it
becomes ???? saved into the column. I have written an app using
Jaybird and still unrecognizable.

Is there any settings or configuration i need to make?
