I upgraded two Firebird servers from Redhat 9 to FC3 this weekend.
When I first tried to install via rpm, I received an error that
libstdc++.so.5 was missing. Beginning with FC3 and libstdc++-3.4, the
file name is libstdc++.so.6. I tried soft linking .5 to .6 but
received another error. Finally, I forced an uninstall of the version
of libstdc++- that came with FC3 and installed the version that came
with FC2. I was suprised when it worked but it did, however, users are
complaining that the system is slow. Has anyone had success with FC3
or libstdc++-3.4?
Thanks!
