I am neither a linux, nor a firebird guru
I am (starting) using firebird (1.5.2, downloaded from homepage) on a
debian sarge linux OS
And a friend of mine with a long debian past, told me it's better to
use the specificly for debian precompiled packages that I can install
using apt-get, because it may have/create some optimized settings for
debian
But apt-get only has the 1.5.1 version of firebird, so I was
wondering: what is the difference between the packages I can get
through apt-get and the automatic installer I can download from the site?
John
btw: Thanks for all your answers about the locking situation, I'm
still working on it
