for some reason, my firebird stuff stopped working and it started
working after I copied gds_relay into the installed bin directory.

(on fedora linux).

then, isql started hanging.

the semaphores, i think, used to be created by root. now apache owns
the semaphores.

any pointers for fixing my configuration would be appreciated.

I'm not sure why gds_relay has to run now. i looked for documents,
but couldn't find anything.

I have to do more searching on who should be creating the
semaphores...
