Thank you very much. I knew there had to be a good reason. Firebird has been so stable for the past year+ that a bug of this magnitude would have been a suprise. Just one thought; Updating to 1.5 seems to have fixed the problem??

It is well-known issue with WinXP, System Restore and *.gdb files.
Turn off system resore on disk where FB1 is installed.
