Hello,
I'm having a hard time connecting to a locally running Classic Server
1.5.2 on a particular Windows XP Prof. SP2 machine. No difference if
there is a local firewall running or not.
I've installed Classic as a service by using the install_classic.bat
script. After that, I get one entry in firebird.log
TOMSTONE (Client) Wed Nov 30 22:47:50 2005
Guardian starting: c:\Programme\Firebird\Firebird_152_3050\bin\fbserver.exe
Dunno if this matters, but it shows fbserver.exe (SuperServer).
TCPView shows me one process fb_inet_server.exe listening on port 3050
though.
I'm trying to connect with isql:
c:\Programme\Firebird\Firebird_152_3050\bin>isql
Use CONNECT or CREATE DATABASE to specify a database
SQL> connect localhost:toursim.fdb user tourism password tourism;
Statement failed, SQLCODE = -902
Unable to complete network request to host "localhost".
-Failed to establish a connection.
SQL>
I get the following entries in firebird.log:
TOMSTONE Wed Nov 30 22:42:42 2005
INET/inet_error: select in packet_receive errno = 10038
TOMSTONE Wed Nov 30 22:42:45 2005
INET/inet_error: select in packet_receive errno = 10038
If I now run \bin\uninstall.bat and install SuperServer via
install_super.bat I can connect with the same connect string using
localhost:tourism.fdb.
Any hints are much appreciated.
