Hi,
I have a problem with Firebird 1.5.2 CS for Windows. I have used the original setup. I have installed CS (on Windows XP SP2 with FW disabled).
After install, I tried to connect to database (via IBExpert). After several minutes of waiting I have got error message:
Unsuccessful execution caused by a system error that precludes
successful execution of subsequent statements.
Unable to complete network request to host "LOCALHOST".
Failed to establish a connection.
In firebird.log, there was this message:
INET/inet_error: select in packet_receive errno = 10038
I tried also Firebird 1.5.3.4854, with the same result. I tried Communication Diagnostics (in IBExpert) and TCP/IP connection to port 3050 was established.
Attempt connecting to LOCALHOST.
Socket for connection obtained.
Found service 'GDS_DB' at port '3050'
Connection established to host 'LOCALHOST',
on port 3050.
TCP/IP Communication Test Passed!
I tried Firebird 2.0 beta 1 - and it works!
Does anybody have any ideas?
Thanks a lot,
Petr
