I think it is not about wealthyness.
Latin people has quick and practical capacity, and they are faithful
fanatic.
They can able to see any opportunity before than other slow peoples.
If your theses was be true then china(or indian) people must be the
most Firebirder, because they are 2 billion and not richer than US.
We choiced IB/FB (when it was commarcial product) because of its
sameless agile-smart anatomy and skills.
There is no money problem about to use of oracle or other big dogs,
moreover customers prefered it, adds its name value to products.

Why US people don't prefer FB???
In my opinion, it is about american physicology. They like
BIG,FAT,JUMBO,LARGE,BULKY etc things, like ORACLE, MSSQL, MYSQL! :)
If FB lives as an Open Source today,
we grateful it to other people. (Plus, ibphoenix people of course)
US people can kill any unadverted product regardless its perfection.

I leaved my former company to don't use oracle, i'm happy with FB,
even i make money 3 times less.
You can download oracle from OTN it is free for development purpose,
who cares! ;)
