Your client software is probably still using it - make sure that you
actually ask for it when installing Firebird 1.5

Probably same as above, but ClassicServer does not have services manager
you need to install SuperServer

I'm still running 1.0 on W98 machines, but installing 1.5 is not too bad
if you select the right options when installing ( select everything that
is not checked and you should be OK ;) )
