Hi,
I installed SP2 and my connections to a Firebird 1.5 database on a
Linux server now take about 30 seconds compared to 2 seconds or less
on other boxes.
It seems to be due to the Windows Firewall because I disabled it and
connections worked at full speed again. I was able to check the log
and saw some dropped TCP packets from the Firebird server to the XP
box's port 113. When I opened up that port for communication from the
Firebird server's IP address I am able to get fast connections with
the Firewall enabled.
Is this the right place to handle this? Should port 113 be opened up
globally, or can Firebird be configured to do this via a different port?
Anyone else have similar experiences?
Thanks,
Steve Tyrakowski
