OK seems I jumped the gun. All the linking I had seen in the Access
databases I have moved over to Firebird were internal, and being being
used to produce relational views, but it would seem that these links can
also be to tables in external databases on other engines.

Something that was being discussed as a possible extension in FB3 or 4?

Can anybody fill in a little more detail, I'm not sure this was in
earlier versions of Access?
