We have a customer that is having problems using the backup portion of our
program.
The error we are getting is:
Unsuccessful execution caused by a system error that precludes
successful execution of subsequent statements.cannot open backup file
\\svr-b-nas1\departments\electrical\CirrisCraig\easywire.gbk .
At first we thought that this was a share permissions problem. But, after
exhaustively questioning the customer and getting him to send us screen
shots of the permissions page we think that this is not a problem.
As a final test I had the customer use the command line gbak utility with
the following parameters:
gbak -v -t -user SYSDBA -password 111565
localhost:c:\cirris\easywire\database\easywire.gdb
\\svr-b-nas1\departments\electrical\cirriscraig\easywire.gbk <file://\\svr-b-nas1\departments\electrical\cirriscraig\easywire.gbk>
The output we received from the customer shows that the backup completed
normally.
So, we are wondering what the differences would be between the Service and the gbak utility to make gbak work and the service fail?
Thanks
Karin and Ray
