Hi
Agree.
Strongly disagree.
Never understood that advice. I am running Windows 2003 Servers with disk
volume shadowing enabled and it IS a good feature, even for backing up
firebird fdb files. Can anyone please try to explain this?
The problem might more properbly arise from system restore, which is a good
feature either, BUT it prevents you from successfully using gdb file
extensions. Use fdb instead.
Everything works fine for me with fdb extensions. And I regulary do backups
with GBAK and additionally with volume shadow copies. (I was very happy
about this when I realized, that gbak cannot restore fbk files in certain
cases.)
