I return again on this thread since I haven't seen any reply after my last
message.

The problem is that the Guardian is not always able to launch server (FB
1.5 SS final). OS is Windows XP Pro SP1. Digging in the Firebird.log file
I have found this:

The guardian was unable to launch the server thread. errno : 1055

Maybe it can shed some light about the problem? I repeat that sometimes it
can launch the server, but in the majority of cases it cannot, say it fails
9 times out of 10.
