Then make him sign a disclaimer for any responsibility for the reliable
operation of Firebird, and any losses due to data corruption.

For "not possible" read "totally silly idea".
Firebird works directly with the hard disk to produce fast and stable
operation. putting a network connection in the way is a major mistake.
People kept insisting that this was needed, but I think they now know
why it was not and should not be part of Firebird :)
