Hi
Rename your database to .fdb instead of .gdb. gdb is recognized by System
Restore in a special way.
System Restore on Windows 2003 is diffent, but still dont use gdb.

Steffen

Subject: [firebird-support] FB does not work on XP
Hi all
My 4gb gdb never works on XP (NTFS), on different instalations and hardware
with FB 1.0/1.5. The same DB on the same pc on the same HD on W2003 server
has no problem. (I have 3 partitions, XP, 2003 and user data (.gdb) on NTFS)
When connect to DB on XP, the fbserver.exe proccess do a i/o write operation
that seems to "copy" the 4gb (of course, this take about 5 min).
So, every time you open some app that connects to DB, the process begins to
work very hard on HD.
I must use 2003 only for this reason !
Somebody has a working >2Gb FB DB on XP that does not copy on every connect?
Any help?
Thanks
