On a client site, I use GBakSched to periodically backup their database.
Today they have sent me their latest backup. When I attempt to
restore it on my system, I get the following error:
gbak: committing data for table CALLS
gbak: 317 records restored
gbak: do not recognize table attribute 0 -- continuing
gbak: do not recognize table attribute 0 -- continuing
gbak: do not recognize table attribute 0 -- continuing
gbak: do not recognize table attribute 0 -- continuing
gbak: do not recognize table attribute 0 -- continuing
gbak: do not recognize table attribute 0 -- continuing
ERROR: arithmetic exception, numeric overflow, or string truncation
Cannot transliterate character between character sets
The table 'calls' should contain some rows timestamped yesterday, but
the latest that appear are 5th April. I have had earlier back-ups
containing calls up until mid May.
Is this likely to be just a restore problem, or a problem in the
original backup?
What now? Is this back-up nerfed? Can it be recovered?
Running FBv1.5 SS on Windows 2000. The database character set is
ISO_8859_1. Dev tool: BCBv5, IBOv4.3Aa
TIA
