I located and downloaded an OLEDB provider for IB5/6 and FB1.0+,
ibole.dll
from ZStyle. We are evaluating its benefits presently.
Your question on ADO has given rise to another question:
We are using Delphi as a front-end. From within Delphi it's
probably
advisable to use the native dbExpress/BDE drivers for Interbase
which should
give at least a marginally better performance. However I guess
ADO is more
established as middleware than the BDE. If this assumption is
fundamentally
wrong (that ADO is more widely accepted and supported than BDE)
let me know,
so I shall look at the BDE from that angle.
