I use dbExpress driver to firebird. Simple StartTransaction, Select, Insert..., Commit.
I not use any management tool. Only midingth run by scheduler the sweep, but no affects.

Alright I have but I did a silly and left an edit open ;) )
One thing that is worth bearing in mind. Are you using any management tools at the same time? I get 'growth' if I leave IB_SQL
looking at the table without refreshing it from time to time. It got left open on a site when the dial up connection crashed, and
was causing trouble by the time the engineering got back in. Just another thought.
