Hi, Helen.

I don't think, that the disks use compression, but I will
chech this out.

I've found out, that modifying the restore command from:

> >My restore command:
> >gbak -r -user sysdba -pas masterkey -v -y c:\x\restore.log C:
> >\temp\mcm3.1.fbk c:\firebird\databases\mcm3.1.fdb

to:

gbak -r -user sysdba -pas masterkey -v -y c:\x\restore.log C:
\temp\mcm3.1.fbk 127.0.0.1:c:\firebird\databases\mcm3.1.fdb

will help and allows to restore the DB.
But there is still one computer left (Windows 2000 Server) on
which the restore doesn't work. Now, I get the following error:

gbak: ERROR: Unable to complete network request to host "dh-srv01".
gbak: ERROR: Failed to establish a connection.
gbak: ERROR: failed to create database dh-srv01:c:\mcm\x.fdb
