Unfortunately I can't reproduce this error.
In this particular case I have more or less followed the defaults for the
O/S install. The only things I changed were to set the regional stuff to
UK and to add terminal server services.
The expected version of msvcrt.dll exists in system32 (v.6.1.8637.0) and
no copy of msvcp60.dll is there. After rebooting I installed Firebird
1.5.0.4306, clicked through on the defaults and the installation went as
smoothly as ever.
So, how come you get the error and I don't?
