Subject Congratulations and thanks to all involved

Hi all,

There have been many posts here complaining about not being able to set up
FB, etc., etc., etc. So I thought I would make a different kind of post.

I have just completed replacing IB 6.02 with FB 1.5 on my development
machine. Running W2K, with Delphi 5, using IBX objects. The application is
a large (200 k lines) application that is used in the retail petroleum
industry.

The installation and replacement of IB with FB was seamless. Uninstalled IB
using the "remove software" wizard in W2K, and installed using the windows
exe version 1.5.0.4306 win 32 exe, and then edited the conf file as per the
readme.

I am very impressed with the ease of installation. Nothing has complained -
most importantly of all, Delphi hasn't complained, but has flawlessly
connected to the FB server, using the gds32 dll created as part of the
install process.

A big THANK YOU and congratulations to all involved.

Now all I need to do is to train our engineers and get it rolled out to the
thousand or so sites around the country ... :-D

Tim
