This is fine for a server based solutiuon. But firebird is more than that now.
Consider an embedded solution where the customer is not even maintaining a server and DBA etc. So application itself is giving some kind of front end for doing backup and restore.
Can the backup be made secure so that it can only be restored in the same location.
With Access you can.
