Hi all,
First off, I am aware that System Restore affects .gdb files and
Hyperthreading should be disabled.
Problem Server 1 :
I have a clean install Windows 2003 Enterprise Server with the only
server being a FileServer. It is running on a non-hyperthreaded box,
and I have renamed my test db 'fabibdata.fab'.
When using the IBConsole to log in and out to the local server, it
takes around 10-12 seconds.
Problem Server 2:
At a client site, on a similar Windows 2003 scenario with HT
disabled, the IBConsole Communication Diagnostics tool shows a
sucessful test against port 3050, however when I attempt to test the
DBConnection with the local file "c:\test.gdb", it fails with "Error -
unavailable database". If I change the file name
to "localhost:c:\test.gdb" it connects, after 10-12 seconds.
Anyone have any ideas what this all means?
Cheers,
Jono
