Hi Martijn,
future. Otherwise we'll always have issues (read: complications for
our users) if InterBase and Firebird run on the same machine.
Maybe we should:
- Claim an additional port as from 2.0 (or even earlier) and listen
to both ports by default;
- Start deprecating 3050 as from... 2.5 ? 3.0 ?
- Later still, move entirely to the new standard port.
Of course without losing the possibility to configure Firebird for
another port, just like we can now. But I think the default
installation should not collide with other known services.
