Hi all,

I've tried everything that I can think of to get my upgrades to go
smoothly, but to no avail.

Background:
Upgrading clients currently running IB Open to FB 1.5.

My Procedure:
1. Back up the database using IBConsole before uninstalling
IB/transportable format, etc.
2. Uninstall IB and search for files such as gds32.dll, isc4.*, etc and
see none.
3. Install our new software which install FB using the distribution
files for FB 1.5 from FB website.
4. Restore the database now using the FB server.

The Problem:
Connections are extremely slow to the firebird server. Restores and
Backups take a long time. The restore process can take like a second
per command that is executed (verbose output). If there was no prior IB
install, everything works great. The original Interbase install was
done using the wise installer from ibinstall.defined.net.



If we reinstall IB everything works fine again (except for new functions
that require features of FB).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
