1. disconnect while you gbak, then reconnect.
2. Use the IBX admin components to connect the services API (gbak is then
not in the mix)
3. Use the IBO/mengoni/IBOConsole admin components which require IBO but
also avoid gbak.
2 & 3 above can be done while you remain connected
