Yep, that's my experience with XML as well. In a country where telecoms is
expensive and (outside urban areas), XML offers me exactly nothing except
hugely bloated data transfer files / records. And on top of that,
maintaining the data structures between client and server is a REAL pita.
It offers me no savings or ease of use anywhere at all.

And I certainly do not think that XML support should be part of a dbms.
