Hello everyone,

After re-installing Interbase 7.1 Desktop Edition at Windows 2003, I
have a
problem connecting to interbase server using TCP/IP protocol

When I am using the database name
string "localhost:C:\Data\MyDatabase.ib",
the following error message is appearing:

"Unable to complete network request to host "localhost". Failed to
establish
a connection. No connection could be made because the target machine
actively refused it"

If I use just "C:\Data\MyDatabase.ib" database connection name, then I
successfully connect to the database

I checked this connection both from ODBC System DSN Configuration
dialog and
from Interbase Console and from my application. It's all the same and
returning the same error message

There is no software firewall at the computer, and I can successfully
ping
localhost

I appreciate any advice
