In the new way I need to write the query as a string. So I need to
convert all the values into strings.
Isn't is so that when you use the wrong dateformat, you get not result
from the query?

does firebird gives the same result in

select *
from x
where a = '08/12/2004'

and

select *
from x
where a = '08.12.2004'

or?

select *
from x
where a = '20/12/2004' (european notation)

I thought that the firebird format was based on the OS on which
firebird is running. Or is it always the US Format?
