Set your FTP Host Address as

Then... log in as anonymous...
Go to the PUBLIC/DISTRIBUTII
Download your SME...

FirebirdSS-1.5.0.4290-0.i686.tar.gz
libgcc_s-3.2-1.i386.rpm
libstdc++-3.2-1.i386.rpm
And two text files I made that show how to install
SME-Firebird-Install-Commands.txt
SME-Firebird-Install-SessionLog.txt

Have just installed FB 1.5.1 on SME 6.0.1.

Well, I think any distribuition may be the best, depends of user.
We use Conectiva Linux 10, this distribution is better than fedora core
or other distributions in performance, and we can make more with the
same hardware, you can see it at "www.conectiva.com.br", try it, i
really think you will be satisfied with it.
