Subject RE: [firebird-support] Working with Visual C#

I use c# linking to both interbase and firebird using the Gemini ODBC
driver. So far it works really well, it is a tad more cumbersome to code
than in Delphi, but makes for excellent OOP programming, where in c#
everything needs to be loaded into class objects etc to work with them,
but Delphi is so simple to get going with either IBO or IBx components.
All you need us to get yourself a Database connection class which
handles opeing only one connection using a singleton approach, then you
are ready to write stored proc functionality in the database and code c#
to run them.

Regards

Martin

Never tried using C# yet, but I did start using Interbase Open edition
with
VB6. Not bad, there are a few really good ado providers out there and
of
course, there is the .net provider that is currently being worked on.

The performance with Delphi was of course, much better since it didn't
have
to go through so many layers.
