Actually my comment was based on the proposed road map where comments were requested. My understanding is that there is already a large company with $$$ funding Vulcan and the incorporation of features into FB 2 is the issue rather than the availability of said features.
I don't actually need SMP support (however it would be nice), I just thought that maybe it should be a higher priority than some other features.
p.s. Didn't realise it was such a difficult task to implement (Im no DB developer :0) ). That makes it all the more impressive that IB7 has it !

Not multi-threading, but better multithread with SMP/hyperthreading
support.

How about: care to build it yourself?
Or: care to hand over a bag of $$ so that more people can devote
